This privacy policy explains how Contesto AS collects and uses personal data. It provides the information you are entitled to when data is collected from our website and general information on how we process personal data.
Contesto, through its CEO, is responsible for the company's processing of personal data.
Contesto processes personal data related to customers and suppliers, as well as third parties, when necessary to fulfill contractual obligations. This includes contact information of contacts at customer and supplier organizations. The personal data is stored in our CRM and financial systems and is deleted no later than 5 years after the termination of the customer relationship. The legal basis for this processing is the Norwegian Personal Data Act § 8.a (ref. EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) § 6.1b).
- Consultancy services from Contesto AS are not suitable for regulation in a data processing agreement.
- Support services from Contesto AS are regulated by a separate support and data processing agreement.
- Operations and maintenance services from Contesto AS are regulated by a separate data processing agreement. Contact your account manager to receive the agreement if you do not have it.
Contesto processes personal data for marketing purposes. This data will not be shared with other companies without your consent.
From time to time, Contesto will send information via email (newsletters, invitations, etc.). This is voluntary, and by opting in, you agree to regularly receive emails on topics we deem relevant to you. To send these communications, it is necessary to register your email and contact information. These details are stored in our CRM system and HubSpot, our mass communication solution.
The legal basis for this processing is consent upon registration and legitimate interest. You may withdraw your consent for email communications at any time, and Contesto will remove your contact information from the relevant mailing list.
Contesto stores contact information for potential customers. This data is obtained from public sources, such as company websites or the Brønnøysund Register, or from business cards or correspondence with company representatives. The purpose of this data processing is to market our products and services to potential customers and coordinate marketing efforts.
The data is stored in our marketing system, HubSpot. The stored information includes names, associated companies, and email addresses. Contesto follows HubSpot’s "GDPR and Privacy Guidance" regarding the type of information stored. We have activated HubSpot’s GDPR functionality to manage personal information and communications with contacts in our database. Contesto processes personal data as part of personnel administration. This includes personal details, salary information, evaluations, next of kin information, and education/job level. Personal data about job applicants is deleted no later than one year after the application unless the applicant is hired. The legal basis for this processing is the Norwegian Personal Data Act § 8.a and § 8.b (ref. EU GDPR § 6.1c and § 6.1b).
Cegal AS operates Contesto’s systems on its servers and therefore stores Contesto’s personal data. This partnership is regulated by a data processing agreement, and Cegal does not disclose data to third parties.
Contesto’s processing of personal data is governed by the Norwegian Personal Data Act (in accordance with the EU’s GDPR).
Anyone who requests it is entitled to know what kind of personal data processing Contesto performs and the basic information about these processes. This information is provided in this privacy policy.
If Contesto processes personal data about you that is incorrect, incomplete, or unauthorized, you may request that Contesto correct, supplement, or delete the incomplete data. Contesto will, if possible, ensure that the error does not affect you, for example by notifying the recipients of any disclosed information.

Contesto stores information about the search terms users utilize. The purpose is to improve our information offerings by identifying search terms that produce results and those that do not. This information is stored in Google Analytics by Google.
Through Google AdWords cookies, we measure whether those who click on ads perform the desired actions. We also have remarketing enabled, allowing us to display specific ads in the Google Display Network based on visitor behavior on our website. Information stored by Google AdWords is stored by Google.
With cookies from Facebook and LinkedIn, we use remarketing to reach visitors with ads based on their behavior (e.g., only if they visited a particular subpage). We also gain insights into demographic data about our website visitors and statistics on site usage across sessions and logged-in devices. Additionally, we measure ad performance with cookies from social media platforms. Information stored by Facebook and LinkedIn is stored by these platforms.
If you provide your email address and other information on our website, we may tailor our communication and website to you through automation and manual follow-up. We will only do so in the ways you consent to through explicit consent provided in relevant forms. We also use HubSpot as a CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) and keep track of your position in the sales funnel, what you are interested in, what we have offered you, and other information that may be of interest to our sales and marketing teams.
